It starts kinda like that old tv commercial, its a hot afternoon. He gazed up to the scorching sun and wiped the sweat off his brow.
Its been a long few hours. Megan Avenue 1 down, more office buildings to go. He had been going up and down office buildings in search of a legal firm which would take him in for the duration of his 6 months break. After hundreds of calls and unanswered emails the ironclad faith he had in technology crumbled like pinched pineapple tarts. Calls can be forgotten, querying emails can end up in the junk folder but no one can turn you out of an office. Not when you're there and already dressed to the nines.
At least that's what he thinks before being mistaken for a salesman a few times the last few hours. The reason could be anything but he thinks its the necktie, no one walks around wearing a necktie in the afternoon heat with the sleeves down or so he thought.
Tired of having to explain the nature of his presence to ill-informed receptionists he brought out his secret weapon. He braved the afternoon heat with a blazer black as night over his white shirt and matching necktie and pants. It made him look sharper than a swiss army knife. The next hour saw security guards calling him sir, eager to assist and receptionists greeting him nervously(one even asked whether he'd like a cup of tea while waiting), but the most important thing of all, he had 4 interviews in the space of an hour and a half and he scored one of it.
All because he had his blazer on.
