Mon Cheri and I have stayed here at Ampang 971 for exactly one year. We find the place convenient - Ampang Grocer is just a stone's throw away, there's always the 'other' rival grocery that offers a wide variety of imported items to fill up our pantry; Hock Choon. Playdates for our beloved daughter can be conveniently arranged either at kids' zone or tumble tots at Great Eastern Mall, which is just walking distance from our home. The little one gets her lovely haircut at Cheeky Monkee children salon at Level 2, GE Mall. whenever our lil one is down with flu or needing a vaccination - the Gleneagles Hospital is right at the corner, and on Sundays we enjoy family brunch from Mak Jah's corner at Jalan Kolam Ayer Lama, the kueh kueh melayu here are to die for! And to burn the extra calories, accumulated after savoring malaysian fat-laden delicacies we head to Taman Tasik Ampang - here couples young and elderly stroll, jog, or push prams while enjoying the evening sunset and the serenity of this lake area. For shopping sprees, there's the upmarket Suria KLCC and Paragon, and if we need to unwind and get out of the hustle and bustle of city life we just take the highway and drive to either Colmar Tropicale, a 45 minutes drive away, or Morib Banting Selangor, a quiet provincial town and enjoy fresh seafood there. Ampang is good, despite the crazy traffic jams, the 'kamikaze' mat rempits, and the ongoing noisy constructions here and there, it's all good. What's there not to like about Ampang 971...? Staying here is like enjoying a staycation.
