Monster #1.

Solaris, Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur // 25 Mar 2010 // by AK // 3 people like this story
So today I left.

This morning, in the dying midst of the final ecstasy so to speak, I said: You're a chimera.

Gasping for breath underneath me, she went What's that?

I told her. Chimera being the mythological female monster with a lion's head, a goat's body and a serpent's tail that breathes and spits fire. I laughed at will. The description seemed befitting at the time. After all, this monster was about to leave me to the lions of the world, alone and weaponless.

And my mind wandered with a laugh. I have begun to accept tragedies with a bit of laughter now.

As I stared madly into those eyes, probably for the last time in this particular position, I retracted my earlier disposition.

And I concluded my earlier motion. A chimera being something you really hoped or wished for but in reality is just too impossible to achieve. Tossing out word for word definition of the only dictionary I trust. My experiences.

My mind's instantly taken to the hot, cruel streets where I will next wander.

And in closing, I said You're my Chimera.
