Honk

Mount Kiara, Bukit Bintang // 28 Mar 2010 // by Adrian Lim // 6 people like this story
He pulled up at the curb when he saw Sam hailed for him. "To Mount Kiara." He nodded. He sped off.

Alex observed him driving. A mad China man it seemed. He was scruffily dressed with an over-sized unpressed white collared shirt. It's wasn't paper white. It was white nevertheless, with a tinge of yellow. His raisin liked wrinkly skin and balding grayish hair showed his age clearly. "He's more than 60, a crypt keeper." Thought Alex.

Out of the blue a sleek black BMW stopped in front of him. "HHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOnnnnk!"
His engine died with the echoes of his horn. He then took a few breath and restarted his engine. Not long after there was another honk. This time, it wasn't because another vehicle stopped in front of him suddenly. It was just that the car in front of him, a female drive, was driving a little too slow. He overtook her after giving her yet another honk. "What's his problem???", Alex's mind questioned.

The silence was loud. Only the traffic from the roads filled the air. At the traffic light, he grab a coco-cola bottle from under the passenger's seat and loosen the cap to have a drink of water. Even the bottle itself looked old with scratches and dents all over it.

"Hhhhhhhonnnnnnnnnnnk"
"What was it this time???"

Looked to the left. Nothing. Looked to the front. Nothing. Looked to the right. Nothing.

"A mad man indeed!"
He was a road bully, honking at everyone and everything.

He pulled to a stop. Alex paid the fare, opened the door and stepped out. "Hhhhhhhhonk" Alex turned after 40 steps and saw the last of him. A 4 wheeler truck ran into him.
