I saw the two of them sitting side by side on the bench near the bridge looking at the peaceful lake in front of them.
"What a beautiful sight!" one said to the other.
"Beautiful indeed." the other replied.

They looked happy as they reminisced the past by sharing tales concerning matters of the heart to their daily encounters. They seemed compatible, able to hop from one subject to another laughing and listening attentively as they took turns in speaking.

It was a cold night with the wind blowing whilst the thunder and lightning provided the soundtrack and lighting effect to their childish scene. As i was eavesdropping in on their conversation, i sensed that one of them wanted something from the other. Both wasn't sure of what to say or do. They ran out of things to say & sat there quietly for a few moments.

"I've not met anyone i can connect with except you and him."
"What more do you want?" asked the other.
It started to pour. The droplets got heavier. The took refuge under the bridge. I moved in closer.

"So, what more do you want?" the subject continued.
Silence filled the air. "I don't know" a soft reply was heard. "What do you mean you don't know? How can you not know. You know but you are afraid..." The silence got louder.

"I don't know. I just want someone."
"Ok. so what do you expect?"
"What do you mean by that?"
"Eermmm...i meant what do you expect from me?"
"Let me ask you something."
Both hearts quickened.

"What do you think about me?"
"I like you and if a chance if permitted I'd like to be with you."

Their eyes met & their smiles were exchanged.
